My Cape Town Bucket List!

My Cape town bucket list is something I am dying to share with you guys! I am FINALLY going to Cape Town and excited is not the word! So it is now only ten sleeps until I go… not that I’m counting!

My Cape Town Obsession…

Cape Town has been a long obsession of mine since my dad and step mum visited and showed me the most amazing photos. My step mum is actually a long haul air hostess for BA, she has been in the role all her life so as you can imagine is well travelled. When I asked her to divulge her favourite place in the world is, you guessed it… she told me Cape Town.

I mean come on… look at that view! (Clifton beaches, Cape Town)

Then a few years ago I met my now boyfriend in a bar and we got chatting about travel (popular topic with me!) he too had been to Cape Town many times and was totally raving about it. His best friend actually lives out there (hi Chris if you’re reading this!) Now finally we are going together to see the place that has long been on the top of my travel bucket list, yay!

The never-ending travel bucket list…

I hope it lives up to my expectations… Positano is probably my most favourite place I have visited to date, it just stole my heart. Last summer I fell in love with Canada, the highlight being visiting the stunning Moraine Lake. My travel bucket list is pretty endless like most peoples to be honest… I’m so lucky to be ticking yet another place off it this year.

Sharing my Cape Town bucket list!

So today I thought it would be fun to share my specially curated Cape Town Bucket List with you guys! Then when I get home I can let you know what I managed to do and if I did anything extra. It does include things slightly outside of Cape Town too but as I am there for two weeks I have plenty of time to pack in lots of fun!

  • Hang out at the V&A waterfront
  • Go up Table Mountain
  • Visit Kirstenbosch Gardens
  • Spend a day at the beach
  • Drive Chapman’s peak and watch the sunset
  • See the penguins at Boulders beach
  • Stay at a game reserve and do a game drive
  • Visit a vineyard
  • Go to Robben Island
  • Hike Lion’s head at sunrise
  • Explore Camps Bay
  • Cage dive with Great White sharks!

So what do you reckon… will I fit this in a two-week itinerary? haha! We will see. You can certainly look forward to detailed blog posts about my Cape Town adventures on my return though.

If you have been to Cape Town and have any other must-do things for me drop them in the comments!

Rachael 🙂 x
